CEO Tan says Intel is getting into GPUs, has hired chief architect

Intel CEO Ributan The chipmaker has named a new chief architect to build graphics processing units (GPUs), it said on Tuesday.

These chips are manufactured by NVIDIA and AMDpowering large language models, and demand is surging as companies race to build out artificial intelligence infrastructure and data centers.
