ChatGPT is down for many users this afternoon


If you’re having trouble using ChatGPT right now, you’re not alone. The AI ​​chatbot experienced a partial outage for many users this afternoon. Down Detector reports of service issues jumped from almost nothing to more than 12,000 at about 3PM ET.

OpenAI has issued a status update announcing that “high error rates” are occurring for ChatGPT and Platform users. All 13 components of ChatGPT are marked with “degraded performance” on the OpenAI status page. “We are working on implementing a mitigation,” the company said, although it did not provide an expected timeline for when the issue would be resolved.
