Celtic will look to continue their remarkable recent form when they visit Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership.
Celtic can claim an eighth league win in a row at the Tannadice, following last weekend’s Scottish League Cup final victory over Old Firm foes Rangers. They have won 14 of their 15 outings in the Scottish Premiership this term, entering their 16th match with a staggering +40 goal difference.
The Glasgow giants are flying clear at the top of the league as they aim to win their 55th top-flight title and they must pick up another win against mid-table Dundee United on Sunday lunchtime.
Here’s how Celtic could line up for their clash with the Tangerines.
GK: Kasper Schmeichel – The Denmark international made a crucial save in last weekend’s penalty shootout as Celtic secured their first piece of silverware in 2024/25. It almost certainly won’t be their last, with Schmeichel integral to their success.
RB: Anthony Ralston – Alastair Johnston is a significant doubt for the trip to Tannadice after struggling with injury in recent matches. Ralston will replace the Canada international if he is not fit.
CB: Cameron Carter-Vickers – The impressive American has kept clean sheets in his last two league appearances and will fancy his second chance on Sunday. Celtic have conceded just four defeats Premiership All term.
CB: Austen Trustee – The United States’ centre-back partnership was tested in the final by Rangers, with Brendan Rodgers replacing the trustee at the break. He should retain his place ahead of Liam Scales at Tannadice.
LB: Greg Taylor – Taylor scored en route to victory in the showpiece event for the Hoops last weekend, with his attacking quality on full display in the league as well. He has provided four assists in the Premiership.
Chief Minister: Paulo Bernardo – Bernardo has fought his way back into the starting lineup in recent weeks despite stiff competition. Arne Engels was chosen against him RangersHowever he has started less than half of Celtic’s league matches.
Chief Minister: Callum McGregor – The beating heart of Celtic’s dominant midfield, the 31-year-old has been vital to their success. The hoops legend will make his 489th Celtic appearance against Dundee United.
CM: Rio Hate – Hattet did not have his best Celtic performance in the Scottish League Cup final but will be keen to add to his four league goals for the season on Sunday. He has appeared in every Premiership match this term.
RW: Nicholas-Gerritt Kuhn – The German has been a revelation since arriving from Rapid Wien last January, consistently shining in green and white. Five goals and six assists in 13 league matches says enough.
ST: Kyogo Furuhashi – The quick and diminutive forward did not extend his impressive goalscoring record against Rangers last time out. He has scored just twice in his last nine appearances but will undoubtedly cause problems for the Tangerines.
LW: Daizen Maeda – Celtic’s number 38 was second on the scoresheet last weekend and will be keen to maintain that form on Sunday. He has managed just two of his side’s 44 goals in the Premiership, although he has provided three assists.
