Israel launches multiple attacks that kill two Gaza civil defense workers Israel-Palestine conflict news

An Israeli attack on a house in Jabaliya Nazra in northern Gaza killed at least six people and injured many others.

At least two Gaza Civil Defense members were killed in the latest Israeli attack on the Palestinian enclave, rescue and emergency services said.

On Tuesday, a drone attack on the Gaza City Civil Defense headquarters killed firefighter Nabil Bahloul and his son.

Another civil defense worker, Naguib Saqr, was killed when Israeli forces bombed the Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City.

Ahmed al-Madhoun, a member of the Civil Defense, said: “We received an emergency message… asking for help in extinguishing a fire caused by an Israeli airstrike on a residential building.”

“We rushed to the scene. On the way, we received a call that the location we were going to had just been attacked again. We went to find dozens of people killed, including our civil defense team members who had been torn to pieces.”

Tareq Abu Azzoum, Al Jazeera’s Gaza correspondent, said Israeli military attacks on Gaza’s civil defense offices were increasing.

“We are talking about 14 centers and 56 vehicles destroyed, including fire trucks and ambulances,” he said.

He added: “Civil defense staff are unable to operate effectively in northern Gaza and their services have almost completely collapsed due to repeated Israeli attacks on local elements.”

As a result, civilians are taking responsibility and working together to carry out dangerous rescue operations, including rescuing victims from under the rubble of bombed buildings, Abu Azoum said.

According to Al Jazeera’s correspondent, Israel attacked a house in the Jabaliya Nazra area of northern Gaza, killing at least six Palestinians and injuring many others. The house belongs to the Abu Warda family.

Civil protection officials said the bodies of three children were still under the rubble and crews were facing difficulties in retrieving them.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said Israel’s mid-level ceasefire negotiating team would return to Tel Aviv on Tuesday evening after a “meaningful week” of talks in Qatar.

Separately, an Israeli military investigation concluded on Tuesday that the presence of Israeli troops inadvertently contributed to the killing of six captives by Hamas kidnappers in Gaza.

In late August, the bodies of prisoners were discovered in a tunnel, an incident that sparked the largest anti-war protests since the war began.

The investigation found that the six captives were shot multiple times by their kidnappers after surviving in Gaza for nearly 330 days.

Israeli Genocide in Gaza Since October last year, at least 45,338 Palestinians have been killed and 107,764 injured.

A Hamas-led attack on October 7, 2023 killed at least 1,139 people in Israel and captured more than 200 people.
