YouTube TV is launching lower-priced streaming subscription plans this week, the company announced on Monday. This past December, the live TV streaming service announced plans to roll out more than 10 genre based TV packages in 2026, with slimmed-down channel lineups and lower prices than its base plan. Customers can choose from sports, news, entertainment and other packages.
The rollout begins this week, and all YouTube TV subscribers will have access in the coming weeks. Among the plans available is a $65-per-month sports package ($55 discount for newcomers) that includes every ESPN network, FS1, NBC Sports Network, and, later this year, ESPN Unlimited. A sports and news package will provide all channels in the package of sports and news networks such as CNN, CNBC, Fox News, C-SPAN and Bloomberg for $72 a month.
There’s an entertainment package for $55 a month that includes content from Hallmark, Bravo, Food Network, FX and more. For customers who want a little more than entertainment, the $70-a-month news, entertainment and family bundle will include kid-friendly channels like Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Disney Channel.
Each package costs less than YouTube TV’s $83 basic plan, and all come with unlimited DVR, multiview, its game core and the option to add up to six people to an account. New customers may qualify for discounts.
Skinny streaming packages are becoming more common, with DirecTV getting in the game last year with this one Genre Packages and Sling TV adds passes for a day, a week or a week.
