Following his impressive performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Yashasvi Jaiswal India may make its ODI debut soon.
The young left-hander reportedly performed well with the bat in the Test series against Australia and is expected to earn a spot in the India ODI squad for the upcoming series against England as well as the 2025 Champions Trophy. Although it has not been confirmed, reports from Rev Sports indicate that Jaiswal may be the backup starter.
Consistent performance in testing
Jaiswal was recently in Border-Gavaskar Trophy Making him hard to ignore. The 23-year-old became the second-highest run-scorer in the series with 391 runs in five Tests. He performed brilliantly in Perth, scoring a stunning 161 in India’s second innings to help India register a crushing 295-run win.
Although he struggled in the next two Tests, he bounced back in the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne. Jaiswal scored 82 and 84 runs in the match to keep India in contention until his dismissal turned the tide Australian Agree.

India’s matches will mainly be played in Dubai, including the much-anticipated match against Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium on February 23.
