Australia’s Hannah Green won the HSBC Women’s World Championship for the second time, beating fast-finishing American Auston Kim to win by one stroke.
Green, the 2019 Women’s PGA Championship champion, closed with a 69 after a shaky back nine (three birdies and three bogeys), all but opening the door for King.
The 29-year-old bogeyed her final event to post a four-round total of 14-under 274 at the par-72 Sentosa Golf Club, giving her a repeat of her 2024 triumph in Singapore.
King posted a tie for the best round of the day with six birdies and an eagle, but bogeys on her second holes, particularly the par-3 15th, saw her finish at 13-under 275, one shot behind a shaky Green.
Heading into Sunday’s final round, Lee Min-chi, who was tied with Green for the lead, had three birdies and three bogeys in the final round, shooting a frustrating even-par 72 and tied for third with French players Angel Yoon (71) and Pauline Roussin-Bouchard (68) at 11-under-par 277.
Top-ranked Jeeno Thitikul, who won the tournament in her native Thailand last week, shot 73 to finish at 2-under 287 and tie for 31st. She finished one shot behind defending champion Lydia Ko, who shot 72.
England’s Charley Hull, Mimi Rhodes and Lottie Woad all tied for 10th at 6 under, with Hull at 3 under in the final round.
This non-elimination event involving 72 players is the second of three stops on the LPGA’s Asian Tour at the beginning of the year. The final will be held next week on Hainan Island, China.
