Teams and formats
There are six teams in the tournament: Auckland Hearts, Canterbury Magicians, Wellington Flames, Central Seaside, Northern Region and Otago Sparks. The competition will adopt a double round-robin format, with each team playing home and away games. The top three teams in the preliminary round will advance to the playoffs, culminating in the finals on February 2 at Basin Reserve.
Unlike the Super Round in the league stage where there are no draws, the playoffs will include Super Round provisions to ensure decisive results in the knockout rounds.
The upcoming edition celebrates 20 years of T20 cricket in New Zealand, with the team donning retro-style jerseys inspired by the inaugural match between the White Ferns and Southern Stars (now Australia Women’s Team) at Eden Park two decades ago T20I matches, full of nostalgia.
