Wolves are expected to confirm the appointment of Vitor Pereira as their new head coach later today.
The Portuguese will replace Gary O’Neill, who was sacked following Saturday’s defeat at home to Ipswich, which left Wolves second from bottom in the Premier League after winning just two games this season.
Wolves and Pereira’s current club Al Shabaab have reportedly agreed a compensation package that will see the 56-year-old take over in Molineux ahead of Sunday’s trip to rivals Leicester City.
We have parted company with head coach Gary O’Neill and his backroom staff.
We thank him for all his efforts and hard work over the past 16 months.

Pereira has enjoyed a nomadic stint in management, impressing in his homeland as well as in Saudi Arabia, Greece, Turkey, Germany, China and Brazil.
The highlight of his managerial career was a two-year charge of Porto, leading them to back-to-back Primeira Liga titles.
He has also won league titles with Olympiacos and Shanghai SIPG.
However, Pereira will have a tough job on his hands in trying to push Wolves away from danger.
The club could also be without star man Mathews Cunha for the time being after he was charged with misconduct by the Football Association this morning.
The Brazilian forward, Wolves’ top scorer with eight Premier League goals this season, was involved in an altercation with a member of opposition security staff after the game against Ipswich.
