And after that, there’s also a funny scene of vampires watching a clip from What We Do in the Shadows pilot and reacts with the expected shock.

But! Go back a bit earlier in the episode, when Nadja “hypnotizes” the viewer through the camera, instructing them to imagine the best ending for their documentary—a meta-wink at the end of What We Do in the Shadows itself. When I watched the press screener that FX provided, the episode then jumped to a parody of The Usual Suspectsas I described in my recap.

But when I re-watched the episode on Hulu, I was surprised and delighted to see a different “hypnosis-induced” ending: Nandor and Guillermo waking up together in bed, which is already a fun one. which sight appears before I realize. What We Do in the Shadows is the cheek of the legendary “it’s all a dream” ending of Newhart.

My excitement tripled when I realized there was a third option: a spot-on entertainment at the end of Rosemary’s babyexcept this time you see the demon child, and it’s amazing. Glory be to Satan!
