The Unrivaled set a new bar for the largest audience ever for a women’s professional basketball game in Philadelphia. Friday’s 3×3 Women’s Basketball League doubleheader at Xfinity Mobile Arena drew a record crowd of 21,490 fans.
The previous record was 20,711 for the Indiana Fever game against the Washington Mystics on September 19, 2024 at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. That season, the WNBA experienced the “Caitlin Clark Effect” as countless attendance records were set and broken, but it was the final game of her rookie season that set the benchmark.
The unparalleled game also saw the all-time arena attendance record for a professional basketball game, whether men’s or women’s. The previous record was 21,305 for Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan’s final game with the Bulls on April 17, 1998 against the Philadelphia 76ers.
It also broke another record for any event held at the venue. The previous record was 21,424, set by the Backstreet Boys on their “Into the Millennium” tour on September 29, 1999.

Paige Bueckers talks about playing to a sold-out arena for Unrivaled
Dallas Wings star and BC Breeze defenseman Paige Bueckers spoke out about the game in front of a record crowd in Philadelphia. She recognized the efforts of those who paved the way for the growth of the women’s league.
“Women before us paved the way and now we are finally getting recognition, media coverage and attention on television,” Bueckers said. “We’re playing in an NBA arena and 21,000 tickets have been sold out.”
That’s good news for event organizers, as TV ratings for Unrivaled’s second season dropped significantly compared to its 2025 premiere. Early games this season reportedly averaged 175,000 viewers on TNT/truTV, with some broadcasts on truTV alone drawing 32,000 viewers. That’s a significant drop from the first season, when the league averaged about 221,000 viewers on TNT and peaked at more than 360,000 viewers for key games.
