West Ham are keen to bring in a new centre-back ahead of the February 2 transfer deadline, but a deal for Disasi is starting to look unlikely amid reports the Frenchman would prefer a move to AC Milan.
The Hammers have been in the market for a defender and recently made an offer for Southampton Tyler Harwood-Bellisrepulsed by the Championship club.
Rob Green Making clear the importance of strengthening the centre-backs ahead of the deadline, he said: “They just lost (Lucas) Paqueta but they need to use the money.
“If Harwood-Bellis keeps doing that then he will be a step up in the eleven. The key areas are forwards and centre-backs. They’ve sorted out the forwards; now they need centre-backs.”
However, having seemingly missed out on Harwood-Bellis, the Irons may have to turn to other targets, now that they have joined the race for another Championship defender.
That’s according to journalist Alex Crook, who recently claimed on the X website West Ham United have now made contact over a deal for Hull City defender John Eganas they look to bring in a new defender before the deadline.
However, promotion hopefuls Ipswich Town have also shown an interest in the Irishman, who has 37 caps for his country, so there will be fierce competition for his signature.

Egan has also been a key player for Hull City this season, averaging 6.5 clearances per game in the Championship, second in the team, but he is unlikely to be a long-term solution for West Ham’s backline as he turns 33 in October.
