‘Wedding canceled’ – Smriti Mandhana breaks silence on marriage to Palash Muchhal

Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal have broken their silence on speculations about calling off their wedding. After weeks of rumors ranging from alleged cheating to talk of a new wedding date, Mandana and Muchal released an official statement on social media.

Smriti and Palash were scheduled to get married on November 23, but the ceremony was put on hold after Mandhana’s father was rushed to the hospital. Palash was also hospitalized before being discharged. The wedding was postponed indefinitely due to medical emergencies facing both families.

Rumors then began to circulate, including claims that Palash had cheated on her with wedding choreographer Mandana during the sangeet preparations, adding more controversy to the canceled plans.

I need clarification that the wedding was cancelled- Smriti Mandhana

In her first official statement, Smriti Mandhana confirmed that she and Palash Muchhal have decided to call off their wedding. She said she usually keeps her private life private but felt the need to clarify the situation.

Mandana said on Instagram: “There has been a lot of speculation about my life over the past few weeks and I feel it is important for me to speak out at this time. I am a very private person and I would like to keep it that way, but I need to clarify that the wedding has been cancelled.”

Mandana asked people to stop discussing the matter and respect the privacy of both families during this difficult time. The southpaw added that she wanted to focus on her cricket.

“I want to end this here and implore all of you to do the same. I ask that you respect the privacy of both families at this time and give us space to process and move forward at our own pace,” she added.

“I believe there is a higher purpose that drives us all and for me that purpose has always been to represent my country at the highest level. I hope to continue playing for India and winning trophies for as long as possible and that will always be my focus.”

I decided to move on with my life – Palash Muchhar

The exact reason why Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal called off their wedding is still uncertain. Palash has denied the accusations and warned that he will take legal action against anyone who spreads false or defamatory statements.

Palash wrote on Instagram: “I have decided to move on with my life and withdraw from my personal relationships. It saddens me to see people react so easily to baseless rumors about something that is most sacred to me. This is the most difficult phase of my life and I will stand by my beliefs and handle it with grace. I truly hope that we, as a society, learn to stop before judging a person based on unsubstantiated gossip, the source of which has never been identified.”

“Our words can hurt people in ways we will never understand. As we think about these things, many people around the world are facing serious consequences. My team will take strict legal action against those who spread false and defamatory content. Thank you to everyone who has supported me in kind during this difficult time,” he added.
