The out came in the Strikers’ 5th inning, by Jason Behrendorff. Weatherard tried to charge down the court and hit a long shot from midfield. However, Tye has other plans. In the midfield position, Tye rose up at the right moment, reached out with his right hand and snatched the ball out of the air, displaying amazing athleticism and reflexes. He landed safely and latched on to the ball, putting the Strikers in trouble at a crucial moment.
Weatherald scored 8 runs off 8 balls with one boundary, becoming another victim of a top-order collapse that saw the likes of Chris Lynn and Ollie Pop Get away cheap. Tye’s superb catch not only neutralized potential threats but also set the tone for a disciplined and impactful bowling performance from the Scorchers.

Forwards struggle, but underlying organization fights back
Adelaide Strikers batted first after conceding the ball and struggled to build a partnership at a challenging Adelaide Oval. After early dismissals of Lynn (1-for-3), Pope (1-for-5) and Weatherald (8-for-8), Darcy Short (22 out of 19) and Alex Ross (20 out of 15) Tried to steady the Slicks’ innings with brief but valuable contributions.
