Warrington Wolves have confirmed captain George Williams will leave when his contract expires at the end of the 2026 season.

The England captain has scored 35 goals in 91 appearances for The Wire but will seek an opportunity in the NRL in 2027.

“Warrington is a huge part of my life and I have loved every minute of my time at the club,” Williams said in a club press release. “Being captain of this team and taking the kids out every week is something I will always be extremely proud of.

Williams previously played in Australia for the Canberra Raiders in 2020 and 2021, attracting interest from Australia towards the end of the 2025 season.
