Keyshawn Davis has agreed to challenge IBF light welterweight champion Richardson Hitchens for the title in March 2026. The two met today at a press conference for Teofimo Lopez vs. Shakur in New York City.
Keyshawn’s switch flipped immediately
Hitchens got in Keyshawn’s face and reminded him how he had bested him during their argument years ago. Initially, Davis (13-0, 9 KOs) was friendly and easy-going, but when Hitchens began humiliating him in front of the media and bringing up their feud, he suddenly broke down inside.
Keyshawn was different, he showed a hint of anger and took over. You can tell by the look in his eyes that he’s in full trigger mode, vowing to fight Richardson next and take the IBF 140-pound title from him in 2026.
Belinchik bombing flashback
He had the same look on his face when he lost his temper at WBO lightweight champion Dennis Belinchik at his last press conference, accusing him of having a box of bananas delivered to his hotel room. Keyshawn looks ready for a 72-hour run at Bellvue. he snapped. He looked ready to go wild on Richardson.
Hitchens suddenly recoiled
When Keyshawn lost to Hitchens, he completely backed down. You can see the changes. He went from talking nonsense to holding back and asking, “What trouble have I gotten myself into?” I unleashed something on Keyshawn that he didn’t want to deal with.
“We’re going to fight next year because he’s the champion. I’m going to take your belt away because you know you’re no better than me in March. Hey, you can’t take a punch. I guarantee you can’t take a punch,” Keyshawn Davis said to IBF light welterweight champion Richardson Hitchens during the fight. Today’s confrontation In New York.
