When asked if Gautam Gambhir wants Kohli to leave the team, Saikia gave a befitting reply by saying, “That perception may exist, but Virat Kohli has always been in the team. Saikia also spoke about whether Virat Kohli’s Test retirement was also affected and he replied: “No one can force a player like Virat Kohli to change and take a decision. He has reached that level. The board will not interfere in the career of any player,” Saikia said.
