Venezuela delays vote on amnesty bill to protect political dissidents




Venezuelan lawmakers on Thursday delayed a landmark amnesty law meant to stop the use of courts against dissidents after failing to agree on its implementation. Thousands of people gathered in Caracas demanding the release of political prisoners. The law would acquit charges against opponents of former leaders Nicolas Maduro and Hugo Chavez.
