Oleksander Usyk says he has a “secret” A rematch with Tyson Fury is planned for this Saturday night. He said that he and his team watched his fight with Fury (34 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss, 24 KOs) last May and developed a game plan against him.

Usyk probably doesn’t need a secret plan to beat Fury, as he’s looked pretty tired this week. The Gypsy King looks like he’s been torturing himself during training camp and may be a little overprepared. This took a toll on Fury mentally and it was his first loss.

Unified heavyweight champion Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) neutralizes Fury’s injury-heavy tactics, which he has used effectively in many of his fights over the past four years since SugarHill Steward became his trainer . This strategy involves holding and leaning.

It didn’t work against Usyk and Francis Ngannou, and Fury struggled in those fights. As he got older, Fury became too reliant on beatings to win fights.

“I’m going to knock him out. I’m going to fulfill what I promised Turki in May. I’m going to cook rabbit in his kitchen,” Tyson Fury said on today’s fight grand arrival Saturday night against unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk. “There are new ones.”

Usyk: “I’ve got a secret” for Fury

“It’s going to be a great fight. I feel like I’m going to win,” Usyk said. “It’s still the same, because that’s my plan. Maybe we have a new (plan) because I worked. We know a little bit because we watched the game. I have a new secret.”

Fury looked exhausted during his grand arrival today, suggesting he may have lost too much weight in a hurry. He hasn’t had a performance like this in an opener in seven months, and you have to wonder if he took it too far in training camp.

They called Fury’s training camp “prison,” and he reportedly trained with Moses Itauma and a host of other sluggers. Did they take something away from Fury, leaving him with the gaunt, old giant we saw this week? If Fury loses the rematch, he’ll have a good excuse to tell fans, blaming it on excessive performance in training camp.

A second loss for Fury would derail Turki Arasheh’s trilogy fight plan. Turki told Fury this week to “do a good job” against Usyk, which is easier said than done. If you watched the ninth round of the first fight, it would have been an almost impossible task for Fury to win without referee interference to prevent Usyk from knocking him out.
