Universal Tower Defense Tier List (December 2025)

Universal Tower Defense is a strategy-based TD experience where your goal is to collect units, upgrade them and clear levels across multiple modes. In addition to the main story, you can also enter challenges and complete missions in the clearing stages with special modifiers. Victory depends on unit placement, strategic upgrades, and understanding which characters are best for a given situation.

There are more than 30 anime characters in Universal Tower Defense, divided into different roles and rarities. If you’re struggling to determine the best, use this updated tier list to get a feel for the meta.

S+ level: The best unit as they are able to deal a lot of damage over time, including AoE, and activate passive skills that can quickly wipe out enemy waves.
S class: Great units for all game modes, but to truly stand out from the metagame, they require more investment in relics and traits.
A floor: These are great support units. They have the ability to stun, freeze, and other valuable effects that slow down enemies.
Class B: Useful unit for farming gold and other resources in the main story. However, as you move into higher stages, their value and need decrease.
Class C: A unit with impressive base stats. They’re great for beginners, but it’s better to look for better characters.

How to get units in Global Tower Defense

To get more characters for your tower defense team, head to the Summoning Station and approach the NPC on the desk. This will open the gacha on the screen where you can see all the characters you can get using gems, the in-game currency.

The easiest way to get summoning gems is to redeem them The latest universal tower defense codes. Take advantage of them while they are active to quickly earn up to 1000 gems.

How to increase the power of units in Universal Tower Defense

Each time a level is cleared, units gain experience. As they gain more and more XP, they level up and their overall stats and DPS increase. You must collect the best warriors for your team and then level them up to the limit.

Other major ways to enhance a unit’s potential are as follows:

feature: Trait provides units with additional range, damage, health, and other attribute boosts.
Statistics: Stats reroll allows you to change a unit’s statistics. Stats range from F (worst) to SSS (best), so consider getting the latter for your unit’s attack, range, and attack speed.
develop: To evolve a unit, you need to craft an evolution item. Each evolution increases the unit’s statistics and gives it better passive abilities.

Currently, the best unit in all modes is the Jinoo (Monarch). It constantly creates shadow units and boosts their health and damage to destroy enemies.
