“It happened again,” White said at the media event, which was shared by X’s stats analyst Jed Goodman. “We got a call from the gaming integrity service, and I said, ‘I’m not doing this again.’ So we pulled out the fight.”
White is not content to allow any betting irregularities mar UFC
What White is referring to is the public fallout from a UFC betting scandal in 2025 that brought the FBI and a wider media spotlight on the sport.
Our coverage reflects White’s displeasure with allegations of wrongdoing and his vocal commitment to punishing fighters involved in any form of fix the match.
White dismissed the impact of betting and match-fixing on sports at the time, saying, “Now people say, there are hundreds of fights (linked to certain results), that’s total bullshit, clickbait bulls***. There are no hundreds of fights investigated, clickbait.”
The UFC has zero tolerance for betting
Hernandez and Johnson are now subject to White’s zero-tolerance policy regarding match fixing, which he detailed in a conversation with TMZ.
He said, “If you try this (fixing the competition for money), we’re your worst enemy. We’re going to come after you, guns blazing with the FBI and whoever we need to get to make sure you go to jail.”
Hernandez concluded on Instagram that he knows that due process and regulations must take center stage because of irregular patterns.
“I understand that the FBI is doing their job. I understand that the UFC is doing their job. I’m trying to get back to doing my job as soon as possible. I hope this matter is resolved with efficiency.
