White House Senior Trade and Manufacturing Adviser Peter Navarro discusses President Donald Trump’s economic agenda and the upcoming Supreme Court decision on tariffs on “Shades of Mary.”
A senior member of President Donald Trump’s cabinet warned on Wednesday that the US economy faces a dire future at the hands of the Supreme Court as it prepares to deliberate on the emergency use of tariffs.
“If the Supreme Court wants to support the tariffs, they’re certainly going to be on the right side of the law on that,” said senior trade and manufacturing adviser Peter Navarro. on “Mornings with Mary”.
“We’re in a dangerous situation, and the Supreme Court, it’s helpful to remember that. I mean, we don’t have resilient, secure supply chains that will protect us in times of conflict,” he continued. “And our economic security is in great jeopardy right now because of it.”
SCOTT BESSENT assures that a “substantial fall” in inflation will be achieved.
The justices are expected to announce a decision in January will hear two cases Trump has called for “life or death” for the US, forcing the country’s highest court to confront how far a president can go in reorienting US trade policy.

The lawsuits, Learning Resources Inc. v. Trump and Trump v. VOS Selections Inc., were filed by an educational toy maker and a family-owned wine and spirits importer challenging Trump’s tariffs.
Both cases turn on a central question: whether the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) gave the president authority to impose the tariffs, or whether the move crossed constitutional lines.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent joins ‘Mornings with Maria’ to warn that the SCOTUS ruling could affect national security, discuss President Donald Trump’s search for the Fed chair and outline how tariffs, tax refunds and growth plans will shape 2026.
“Certainly, it is a national emergency that China is killing us with fentanyl… I, for years, have spoken about the corrosive effect of our trade deficit on our national security by relocating our manufacturing and defense industrial base. Therefore, the Supreme Court has all the facts in front of it,” said Navarro. “It would be an extraordinary refusal, especially in light of the incredible success of the policies.”
He also argued that Trump-era tariffs have brought “millions and billions” dollars into the economy and allowed the administration to negotiate “better deals” that would improve national security.

“The Big Money Show” panel discusses President Donald Trump’s predicted tariff-induced manufacturing boom.
“The question is, how do we best defend ourselves against the mercantilism of the world?” Navarro raised. “Every country in the world is a major trading partner with whom we have a major deficit. It’s like fingerprints. They all screw us up in their own way.”
“President Trump is doing everything he can to bring those jobs and factories to the ground. It takes time, but the things that are happening now point to a strong and secure America, if President Trump is able to continue using tariffs as a national security measure under IEEPA.”
