While hosting the Grammy Awards for the sixth consecutive year on Sunday night, February 1, Trevor Noah joked about Jeff Bezos’ lavish, star-studded wedding to Lauren Sánchez in June 2025. Noah began by acknowledging the “royalty in the family,” specifically mentioning Queen Latifah and Jamie Foxx.
He then marveled that the sheer number of celebrities in attendance made the ceremony feel like Jeff Bezos’ lavish wedding, albeit with one key difference.
“There were so many stars in the room, I felt like I was at Jeff Bezos’ wedding but with more black people,” Trevor Noah joked (per Page Six ).
Earlier in his monologue, Noah also praised Rousey and Bruno Mars, who are known for their hit song “easy“.
“With that, the 68th Annual Grammy Awards officially begins…and we have front-row seats to the best concert money can buy,” he added.
Trevor Noah later got nostalgic, emphasizing Diversity of Artists Attendees included Sabrina Carpenter, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Reba McEntire and Lauryn Hill, among others. He took advantage of Hill’s rare appearance and said:
“The last time Lauryn Hill performed at the Grammys was in 1999… Back in 1999, there was a sex scandal with the president; people thought computers were going to take over the world; Diddy was arrested. Boy, times have changed,” said Trevor Noah.

Trevor Noah made several jokes about President Donald Trump at the Grammy Awards on February 1, 2026, prompting a sharp response from the US president via Truth Social.
In hosting the ceremony, Noah aimed to highlight Trump’s previously expressed interest in acquiring Greenland. When he congratulated Billie Eilish for winning Song of the Year, he also used political irony to describe the moment, comparing the award’s prestige to Trump’s widely derided fascination with the territory.

Noah then turns to Trump so-called association With the late financier Jeffrey Epstein.
“It all makes sense because since Epstein died, he needed a new island to hang out with Bill Clinton,” Trevor Noah said
Trevor also made fun of the rapper nicki minajHas publicly expressed support for Trump. Noah joked that Minaj was absent from the ceremony because she was allegedly having a “political discussion” at the “White House.”

The US president also took particular issue with Noah’s Epstein joke, insisting the claim was false and defamatory. He said he had never been to Epstein Island or “anywhere nearby,” stressing that he had never even been accused in the media before Noah’s remarks.
Trump further escalated his response, also describing Trevor Noah as a “total loser” and warning that he could take legal action if the comedian didn’t “get his facts straight.”
Citing past lawsuits involving media figures and CBS, he said he was prepared to involve his lawyers and suggested Noah should “prepare himself” as the President of the United States intends to “have fun” with the situation.
Trevor Noah is currently busy with his ongoing stand-up comedy tour, which is expected to include multiple dates in 2026.
