DETROIT (Reuters) – Toyota Motor (NYSE: ) of North America is donating $1 million to President-elect Donald Trump’s Jan. 20 inauguration, a company spokeswoman said Tuesday, a day after Detroit’s Ford Motor (NYSE: ) and General Motors (NYSE : )), said they would give the same amount.
Ford and GM are also contributing vehicles to the festival, while Toyota has no plans, the Japan-based company said.

Trump’s proposed tariffs on imports from Mexico and Canada would affect many North American automakers, including Toyota, which makes the Toyota Tacoma pickup truck in Mexico. The incoming president also aims to reverse many of Democratic President Joe Biden’s policies on electric vehicles and emissions, Reuters reported.
Other major companies, including Amazon (NASDAQ: ) and Facebook parent Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: ) also donated to the inauguration.
