Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank sacked after eight months Football News

Tottenham Hotspur sacked the Danish manager after eight games without a win and the team currently sit 16th in the table.

Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur have sacked head coach Thomas Frank after eight months in charge, the club said on Wednesday, after a dismal run of results for the north London club that hovered five points above the relegation zone.

The pressure is mounting on Frank, with Tuesday’s 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United leaving his side in 16th place with 29 points from 26 games and well above the relegation zone.

Tottenham said in a statement: “Thomas was appointed in June 2025 and we are determined to give him the time and support he needs to build a future together.”

“However, the results and performance have led the board to conclude that changes are necessary at this stage of the season.”

Frank joined Brentford in 2018 and established them as a top-flight club following promotion, methods he has sought to replicate for last season’s Europa League winners Tottenham Hotspur.

The 52-year-old’s fate seemed sealed after Tuesday’s defeat to Newcastle United – their 11th league defeat.

Fans left no doubt how they felt, with jeers ringing around the club’s stadium and chants of “You’ll be sacked in the morning” directed at Frank.

It was Tottenham’s seventh home defeat in the Premier League this season, having won just two of their 13 league games in front of their own fans.

Tottenham Hotspur supporters also chanted the name of former coach Mauricio Pochettino, who led Spurs to the 2019 Champions League final, on Tuesday. The Argentinian is currently the head coach of the U.S. men’s national team.
