Tottenham have loaned a “monster” who can be as famous as Vuskovic

The bond that is formed between a football club and a young man who has successfully risen from academy to superstardom is indescribable.

Anyway, that’s it here. tottenham hotspur is one of the leading purveyors of young prospects looking for a path to the top. The Spurs Academy is a cornerstone of the club’s philosophy and Harry Kane Proved this.

Noni Madueke and Troy Parrott are rising stars outside of the N17, both of whom have won honors on the senior stage in north London.

But the focus has been clear in recent years, with Tottenham Hotspur having a number of young talents emerging on loan deals.

This is evidenced by Luka Vuskovic, with the 18-year-old joining the Premier League side in 2023 for a reported fee of £13 million, having spent the past two years continuing his development in his native Croatia before arriving and returning straight to Hamburg, Germany for this season’s campaign.

Vuskovic may well be the Lilywhites’ most exciting prospect, but he’s not the only one playing elsewhere. Tottenham’s loan strategy is clear.

Tottenham loan summary

Vuskovic made his debut for the Croatian men’s team in September. Four games into his Bundesliga career with Hamburg, the teenager has defied expectations, winning nine duels and averaging five goals per game (Sofascore).

An aerial threat who shows strength that belies his age, Vuskovic is the future of Tottenham’s defence, and a strong partner for Tottenham. Mickey van de Ven and Christian Romero Will help him integrate into the Premier League stage no end.

At the other end of the court, Mikey Moore is a talent of similar stature; Fabrizio Romano praises Becoming a “superstar”. However, he has struggled in the Scottish Premiership with Rangers since the summer, but the Ibrox wreck did create a hostile situation.

The two are considered Tottenham Hotspur’s most promising young players.

Mickey Moore Rangers Celtic

It’s not just young people. Winger Mano Solomon, 26, has scored and assisted in three La Liga games for Villarreal and is on loan in Spain until the end of the season.

But younger generation has largely filled the loan spots at Spurs, with midfielder Alfie Devine making a strong start at Preston in England’s second tier, scoring two goals and assisting one.

His versatility and technical ability suggested he could still work his way into Tottenham’s plans and, of course, he scored as a 16-year-old as a substitute against non-league Marines in the FA Cup.

Not everyone enjoys the same wealth. Jamie Donley, 20, is regarded as a great playmaking talent, but he has been on the fringes at Stoke City this season and is yet to start in the Championship. Last year, he was loaned to Leyton Orient and contributed 19 goals.

Also at Stoke City is Ashley Phillips, a young and talented centre-back who may be forgotten at Tottenham but has the potential to, like Vuskovic, figure in Frank’s vision for years to come.

Spurs stars who can rival Vuskovic

In 2023, Tottenham Hotspur signed Phillips from Blackburn Rovers for about £3 million. It’s a massive fee for an 18-year-old but he is a long-term target having already made 15 senior appearances before making a big move.

Phillips, who is only 20 years old, started 35 games in the Stoke City Championship last season, winning 60% of ground duels and averaging 5.9 clearances per game (data provided by Sofascore). He has made just two starts so far this season, although both appearances came in Stoke City’s recent league games, two draws.

Vuskovic may be the talk of the town but Phillips has the ability to succeed under Frank, having gained experience in the Championship and playing for the Potters, who are aiming for promotion and are fifth after nine games.

His profile actually demands to be placed at the highest level and, in theory, his skillset would be a perfect fit for Frank’s tactical system. Tony Mowbray coaches Phillips at Blackburn Recognizing the potential of defenders From the beginning.

Mowbray said: “He’s a fantastic footballer and I’m pretty sure he’s going to be a super footballer, but he’s a very young boy. He’s 6ft 3ft, 6ft 4in, tall, lightning fast, calm on the ball and aggressive.”

These are all qualities a modern defender needs to succeed at the highest level. If Phillips can continue to make progress in the coming months, he is likely to return to Tottenham at the same time as Vuskovic, competing with his juniors for a starting spot.

For all his advantages, Vuskovic is also hard-pressed to make mistakes, winning just 47% of his ground fights in Germany so far this season. That’s Phillips’ strength, and it could hurt the odds when the two vie for the lead role.

That was three years ago Spurs big man Jon Wenham Praising Phillips as a “monster” among young players who drew attention to his physical and mental toughness from the start.

The road to superstardom in the Premier League is long and winding. Phillips and those around him clearly have insights into these issues and recognize the advantages of long-term collaboration.

Kane has established himself in north London following a series of short spells abroad as a teenager. Vuskovic is honing his defensive skills.

Phillips followed the same path. Keep an eye on the “monster” center back; he could play a big role in Frank’s project.
