Deputy Attorney General Todd Branch said federal investigators are uncovering “Huge underground fraud networkIn Minneapolis, he suggested, it helped spur a sudden, coordinated effort to drive ICE out of the city.
“There was massive fraud going on all over Minneapolis, all over the state of Minnesota, and things took a sudden turn,” Branch said Monday on “The Ingraham Angle.” “Things changed almost immediately, and all of a sudden it was all about ICE, everything about ICE being out, and how horrific ICE’s behavior was.”
“When we put our hands up and said ‘stop,’ we met with very strong resistance, so, yes, we have multiple surveys In progress. “

Branch also pointed to the financial dimension of the case, noting that investigators are making “progress” in tracing money flows related to the alleged network. Branch said identifying where the funds flowed was a top priority for federal law enforcement, but he did not name specific individuals or sources.
“This is not something we’re going to accomplish overnight,” he said, “but… it’s not just a coincidence that the large numbers of protesters, rioters and agitators showing up at the same time are fighting back against fraudsters’ profit centers.”

Branch’s comments come as tensions rise between ICE and the Twin Cities public as immigration enforcement actions spark protests, public backlash and heightened scrutiny of the agency’s role in the region.
