Luke Kennard gets praise from JJ Redick after Lakers debut
The Lakers made only one small move before the NBA trade deadline last Thursday. The team added a shooter in Luke Kennard to help space the floor and give Luka Doncic and LeBron James another option from beyond the arc.
In Saturday’s first game, Kennard scored 10 points to help the team beat the Golden State Warriors 105-99. Later, head coach JJ Redick spoke highly of the players’ on-court abilities.
“I just thought these guys played really well, especially Luke, you could see his reads and his game making,” Redick said. “He’s not a guy that you’d like to give the ball to (isolate) and then he’ll turn the defense around, but he’s a smart basketball player who knows how to make plays and knows how to make reads.”
Los Angeles believes Kennard is a great backup and that others will benefit from playing with him.
