The Syrian government said the Israeli strike killed six Syrian soldiers.

The Syrian government said Israeli drone strikes near Damascus killed six Syrian soldiers, reportedly attacking this week.

Syria’s Foreign Ministry condemned Tuesday’s strike as a violation of international law and its sovereignty.

Israeli troops made airdrops at a military site in the area after more strikes on Wednesday. Reports are different in what the troops do and how long they stay.

Israel’s military told the BBC it had no comment on foreign reports. Defense Minister Israel Katz posted on X on Thursday that “troops operating in all combat zones for Israel’s security operate in all combat zones”.

Israel Dozens of attacks After the collapse of former President Bashar al-Assad in December, the rebels formed a government led by Islamists by former rebels. Israel said at the time that it was taking action to prevent weapons from falling into the hands of extremists.

According to the UK-based Syrian Human Rights Watcher (SOHR), Israel has carried out 95 attacks this year – 85 air strikes and 10 land operations.

Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that when Syrian forces tried to deal with “surveillance and eavesdropping devices”, an attack by Syrian forces occurred.

SOHR reported that further air strikes on Wednesday occurred 10 kilometers (six miles) from Syria’s interim president Ahmed Al-Sharaa’s participation in the Damascus International Fair.

There was little detail on the landing site of the former military site, which was reported Wednesday night.

Sanaa reported that several raids were launched by Israeli aircraft, followed by airdrops, “details that have not been determined yet.”

A Syrian military source told Al Jazeera that the operation included dozens of soldiers who stayed on the scene for more than two hours.

Two Syrian Army sources told Reuters that the troops made landings, but there were no more details.

A series of attacks this week were reportedly negotiated as the two countries reacted.

In July, Israel bombed Syrian government forces across Suweida, south of the country, following a deadly sectarian conflict, which mainly entered the city of Druze.

The Israeli Prime Minister said he had ordered strikes on troops and weapons because the government “intentions (they) fight against Druze”. Syria condemned the July attack, which said it killed the armed forces and civilian members.

Druze also has a group of people whose religion is a branch of Shia Islam, which has a unique identity and belief in Israel.
