The strike is over! Cristiano Ronaldo will return to Al-Nasr this weekend after winning a battle with club chiefs

Reports from Portugal suggest that Ronaldo has won his battle against Al-Nasr’s management

Cristiano Ronaldo According to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, Al-Nasr has won his battle for change and will return to the team at the weekend.

Ronaldo, who turned 41 last week, has not played for the Saudi Arabian club since January 30, missing wins against Al-Riyadh and Al-Ittihad as part of a self-imposed exile to show his displeasure with the club’s management.

His resentment initially stemmed from a lack of investment in Al-Nasr compared to title rivals Al-Hilal. Al-Hilal were able to sign Karim Benzema on transfer deadline day – a move funded by a private investor – while Al-Nasr failed to make a significant move. Al-Hilal are a point clear of Al-Nasr at the top of the Pro League.

It has since emerged Ronaldo, and the rest of the squad, were unhappy in an interview given by the club’s chairman of the board, Abdullah Al-Majed, in which he criticized the work of the Portuguese staff, including club CEO Jose Semedo and coach Jorge Jesus.

A Bola report suggests that Al-Majed may be removed from his role in the coming days.

Ronaldo demanded late payment to staff

Ronaldo is also reported to have blamed the fact that many of the club’s employees have not been paid on time. Al-Nasser has now settled the outstanding payments.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward has once again started training with the team. He will not feature in tomorrow’s AFC Champions League 2 play-offs against Turkmenistan side Arkadag – he has been regularly rested for games in the competition – but will return to the squad for Saturday’s Pro League game at Al-Fateh.

Ronaldo posted a photo on social media this morning showing the V for victory signal with an accompanying emoji to suggest the reports were true.
