Drake May trained in full yesterday and declared himself ready to go for Super Bowl LX
New England Patriots Quarterback Drake Maye says he’ll be “just fine” for Super Bowl LX, allaying fears over his throwing shoulder.
May hurt the joint during AFC Championship game against the Denver Broncos And, while his availability for Sunday’s showpiece was never in serious doubt, there was an element of concern that his throwing range might be affected.
However, the 23-year-old trained fully on Monday and indicated that the warm California climate will do him a world of good in the build-up to the clash. Seattle Seahawks turned on.
May said: “I feel fine. I’ll be fine.
“I think I landed a corner on the flight — felt good off the flight — and went out there today. I really had no doubts about being 100 percent for the game. It’s the Super Bowl, you get two weeks to prepare for it. Do what you have to do to get it right, and I’ve got confidence and I feel good.”
Kubiak ‘All-In on the Seahawks’
Seattle’s media availability was dominated by the topic of offensive coordinator Clint Kubiak’s possible departure after the Super Bowl.
Kubiak met with the Raiders and Cardinals for the second time over the weekend and is expected to seek the head coaching job with Las Vegas.
However, he insisted that any future moves would now be put on the back burner after Sunday’s game. Said Kubiak: “I can tell you I’m all-in on the Seahawks, I’m all-in on this game, and whatever comes next, we’ll deal with it on Monday.
“I’ve been working my whole life to coach in this sport, and that’s where our focus is.”
The Seahawks finished the regular season eighth in offensive scoring with Kubiak and quarterback Sam Darnold perfectly dovetailing.
“It’s unbelievable,” said Darnold of Kubiak. “He wakes up at a crazy time. He gets to the facility at 4, 4:30 in the morning, and he’s there later than anyone. He’s a grinder. He loves football. And he’s very honest, and he’s very up front with his players, (which) myself and a lot of people really appreciate.”
