Epstein was released to Canada in 2014 after being convicted

The documents reveal that Epstein visited Canada in 2014, despite his criminal record barring him from entering the country.

The documents include emails and an itinerary that show Epstein traveled to Vancouver in March 2014 and stayed in a premier suite at the Four Seasons Hotel.

A US Customs baggage inspection document released last month shows he flew from Vancouver to Seattle on March 20, 2014.

In 2008, Epstein pleaded guilty to state charges that included solicitation of prostitution with a minor, an offense that should have barred him from entering Canada unless he received permission based on exceptional circumstances.

It was not immediately clear why Epstein was allowed to enter the country in 2014. CBC News asked Citizenship and Immigration Canada officials for an explanation.

As we previously reported, in 2018 Epstein applied for a temporary resident permit, a document that allows him to enter Canada despite a criminal record, but the Canadian consulate in Los Angeles denied his request, documents released today revealed.
