The ‘Ideas of Africa’ exhibition in New York shows a continent coming into its own




A new exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, “Ideas of Africa: Portraiture and the Political Imagination,” features photographic portraits of African artists and captures the spirit of decolonization that swept the continent in the 1960s and 70s along with the American civil rights movement.
