Azerbaijan’s Digital Development and Transport Minister Rashan Nabiyev said on Friday that an Azerbaijani airliner that crashed earlier this week may have been hit by a weapon, while outside aviation experts blamed the crash on Russian air defense systems. The plane was flying from Azerbaijan’s capital Baku to Grozny, the regional capital of the Russian republic of Chechnya, on Wednesday when it veered toward Kazakhstan and crashed while trying to land. 38 people died in the accident, and all 29 survivors were injured.
