
This is a good year for predatorbetween animated epic Killer of Killers and Badlandsteam-up action makes it one of ours favorite films of the year. But if you’re more of a fan of the latter, then there’s good news – Dek and Thia are coming home soon.
This morning 20th Century Studios announced that Predator: Badlands will finally be released digitally next week on January 6, ahead of a wider home release the following February.
Starring Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, Badlands follows young Yautja Dek (Schuster-Koloamatangi) as he ventures into the hostile world of Genna on a quest to prove himself to his father and clan by slaying a deadly beast. Encountering a severely damaged Weyland-Yutani android upon her arrival, Thia (Fanning), the unlikely pair find themselves working together to escape Genna’s dangerous flora and fauna and the overreaching of Thia’s creators.
As well as the film itself, the home release of Badlands comes with many extras, including an audio commentary for the film led by director Dan Trachtenberg, parts of the film’s approach to Predator culture and Genna’s world creation, and, of course, many deleted scenes.
