In a world where travelers chase flash sales and promo codes like boarding calls, one flier discovered that not all “hot deals” are created equal. A customer booking a ticket with IndiGo recently came across a coupon proudly announcing a monumental savings waiting for this Rs.0.0.
The passenger, amused rather than annoyed, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a screenshot of the moment. Tagging the airline’s official handle, they wrote, “Thank you for the generosity @IndiGo6E.”
The screenshot showed the “FLYMORE” coupon displayed under a banner that read “exciting deals for you!” followed by a congratulatory message: “Congratulations! You have saved Rs 0.0 by booking directly with #IndiGo.”
Instead of increased discounts, the flyer received what might be the most transparent deal in aviation history.
To its credit, IndiGo was quick to respond to the viral post. “Hi, we are concerned to know about this. Please allow us some time while we check. Also, we request you to share your contact details along with your PNR with us via DM. – Twinkle,” the airline replied.
But by then, social media was already hooked for a comedy cruise.
The comments section quickly transformed into a turbulent free zone of wit and sarcasm. One user quipped: “What will you do with so much money? (What will you do with this large amount of savings?)”
Another dryly observed: “‘OFFER’ is not ‘OFFER’.”
A third replied: “That’s pretty honest @IndiGo6E.”
One particularly dramatic response read: “OMG, thanks for sharing this trick, book flights for the whole year now.”
Amidst the humor, one commenter reflected on the technical side of the crash: “Actually, it’s the IT department that I feel so sad for. The engineers they hire can’t even think of this math logic in their code – explains how our programmers don’t think of exception handling possibilities. Like everywhere else in India, we just think of something AFTER!!”
