Aubrey Vanlandingham, 17, who brought her goats to a livestock show, allegedly admitted to poisoning young rival Willy’s goat, according to an arrest affidavit. CBS Austin reports.
VanLandingham is accused of using a water cannon to force-feed Wiley a toxic pesticide at Vista Ridge High School’s barn facility on Oct. 23, ultimately killing the 6-month-old goat, the outlet reported. Surveillance footage allegedly shows the goat trying to escape the encounter.
The teenager allegedly left Willie twice in two hours and returned to check on him before calling the rival’s mother to tell her the goat was in poor condition.

Willie died in his owner’s arms within 24 hours after experiencing convulsions and difficulty breathing, CBS Austin reported.

Willie’s cause of death was determined to be poisoning by imidophos, a pesticide used to control ectoparasites in livestock.
The 15-year-old girl’s mother told the Daily Mail that Van Landingham did not appear to be remorseful.
“It’s all very strange. We want justice to be served, we don’t want to be punished. We want to make sure she’s punished. At this point, we don’t feel like she thinks she’s going to be punished, and she does what she needs to do for herself Take responsibility,” she told the outlet, adding that they wanted her to go to jail and get mental help.

one police investigation VanLandingham’s phone showed she allegedly searched for information about lethal doses of bleach and methods of poisoning animals, CBS Austin reported. She also allegedly searched for “how to clear search history.”
The mother of the 15-year-old boy determined that jealousy, not cheating, was the reason for Van Landingham’s alleged crimes.
“You can’t even cheat when showing goats,” she told the Daily Mail. “It makes no sense, so that’s where the jealousy really happens.”

Van Landingham was charged cruelty to livestock, In Texas, this is a felony punishable by up to two years in prison. Jail records show she was arrested on Nov. 22 and released that day on $5,000 bail.
Her court date is scheduled for January 15.
