Pakistan has ended its proposed boycott of the T20 World Cup match against India and it will go ahead as scheduled this Sunday, live on Sky Sports.
With Bangladesh refusing to travel to India for this year’s T20 World Cup due to political tensions and security concerns, Scotland added a last-minute substitute.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi warned last month that their national team could also pull out of the tournament altogether, with the Pakistani government initially instructing the team to play but boycotting the February 15 match against India.
Bangladesh urges Pakistan to end boycott proposal, ‘It will be beneficial for entire cricket ecosystem’the Pakistani government confirmed on Monday that they had reversed their decision and wanted the match to go ahead.
The Government of Pakistan said in a statement: “In view of the results of multilateral discussions and the requests of friendly countries, the Government of Pakistan hereby directs the Pakistan National Cricket Team to participate in the International Cricket Federation Men’s T20 World Cup on February 15, 2026.
“Furthermore, this decision has been taken to protect the spirit of cricket and support the continuity of this global sport in all participating countries.”
