Days after “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin defended California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday, the actress halle berry He was publicly accused of neglecting women in his state.

“So, in order to lower health care costs, he has to veto the bill because they’re not tweaking it and he’s done a lot for women,” Hostin said.

“Back in my great state of California, my own Governor Gavin Newsom vetoed our menopause bill two years in a row,” she said. “But that’s okay because he’s not going to be governor forever and he’s neglecting women, who are half the population, by belittling us, and he probably shouldn’t be our next president either. Just saying.”
Berry, who founded the menopause care company Respin, protested Newsom’s action against AB 432, which aims to improve and expand menopause care by requiring health plans or health insurance companies to provide recommendations for menopause-related treatments.

The bill also requires health care providers to receive relevant training menopause careaccording to a press release from Bauer-Kahn.
Newsom vetoed the bill for a second time in October.
Hostin dismissed Berry’s argument, saying Newsom vetoed the bill because it was too expensive.
“I love Halle Berry,” she said. “I know Halle Berry. I disagree with her 100 percent because Gavin Newsom made it clear that the reason he vetoed this bill twice was because he required them to adjust for cost. Remember, health care premiums are going to rise to nearly a thousand dollars per family by 2026.”

The co-hosts then laid out Newsom’s record of supporting women, citing multiple pro-life agenda project.
“In September, he signed a measure that would allow health care providers to prescribe abortion pills anonymously,” Hostin said. “He required state-regulated health plans to cover the abortion pill regardless of federal approval. In October, he strengthened legal protections for providers from criminal prosecution.”
“He signed legislation to protect women’s health, establishing safety regulations for ingredients and materials in products used by women, including hair, menstrual products, prenatal vitamins. He has done a lot for women, but he is thinking about the health of the nation and rising health care costs.”
