Since liberation, thousands of parades have commemorated 80 years

Thousands of people, including Holocaust survivors, passed the former Nazi concentration camp, and Auschwitz-Birkenau participated in the annual “Travel to Survive”.

The parade follows a 3km (1.86 mile) route to Auschwitz-Birkenau’s crematorium, where participants pay tribute to millions of Jews who died in the Holocaust and demand an end to anti-Semitism and intolerance.

Many people in mid-March carried the Israeli flag and called for the release of Hamas’ hostages in Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Isaac Herzog joined the crowd 80 years after the liberation of Soviet troops.
