
Shakur Stevenson Highlights the type of boxer who might cause him the biggest problems.
The 28-year-old performed well against Teofimo Lopez, losing just one round As he noted last month and dethroned the then-WBO super lightweight champion.
Along the way, Stevenson became a four-division world champion and cemented himself as a top-five star in his weight class, joining the likes of Alexander Usyk and Naoya Inoue.
However, due to his truly dominant performance against Lopez, many are now Wondering if elite technicians will ever be beaten in the professional ranks.
After all, he used his defensive ingenuity and prolific jab to beat most of his 25 opponents with relative ease and remain largely unscathed.
Prior to his clash with Lopez, the one fighter many believed would cause him the most problems was William Zepeda, who competed as an undefeated contender at lightweight last July.
Considering Zepeda’s style, where he typically fights at breakneck speed, it’s natural to suspect that his immense punching output will at least create competition with Stevenson.

“That’s not going to happen (someone fighting me in close combat). The best you can get is Zepeda – that’s your best hope and chance of resistance.
“His style, style initiates fights. The style that gives me the most resistance is the guy who throws a million punches a round and keeps punching.”
Stevenson said unless a fighter has a similar work rate to Zepeda, the chances of him being defeated as a pro are extremely slim.
