Saurabh Netravalkar, Mumbai-born US pacer posts worst T20 WC bowling figures against India

While the United States cricket team has wowed fans across the globe with its surprisingly efficient bowling performance, Saurabh Netravalkar has posted the worst bowling figures in the history of the ICC T20 World Cup.

Saurabh Netravalkar is an American bowler from India who scored a record 65 runs in 4 overs without taking a wicket against India. These numbers not only end up hurting the team but may also seriously damage the morale of the cricketers.

Saurabh Netravalkar A night to remember

In the ongoing third match of the 2026 T20 World Cup, the United States cricket team performed brilliantly at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. During India’s match against the United States, the Men in Blue were six points behind and had only 77 points on the table. Shadli van Schalkewijk took a total of 4 wickets in this innings, including 3 wickets. Ali Khan, Mohammad Mohsin and Harmeet Singh also did their job with the ball for USA Cricket.

But for 34-year-old Saurabh Netravalkar, things weren’t polite enough. The left-arm pacer from Mumbai will try to forget the night as soon as possible. But this record book will remain intact for many years to come. Team USA skipper Monank Patel calls out the bowlers during the powerplay and hard-fought overs, when the batsmen try to accumulate as many runs as possible.

Before Surabh, Sri Lankan player Sanath Jayasuriya held the record for conceding the most goals in a T20 World Cup match. The former Sri Lanka batsman conceded 64 runs in 4 overs against Pakistan in 2007.

Suryakumar Yadav slams US bowlers

Against Netravalka, the Indian batsmen did the same thing. Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma smashed the seamers and had big hits in the short innings. But it was Suryakumar Yadav (84*), the best performer of the match, who gained the most from the out-of-form bowler. Yadav hit three fours and one six in the 16th over. In the 20th over, the batsmen hit two sixes and a four against the American bowlers.

The momentum the US gained was lost in the second session against an experienced Indian bowling attack. The US national cricket team managed only 132 for eight in the 20-over limit, compared to India’s 161. India won the first match of the 2026 T20 World Cup by 19 runs.

List of bowlers who have conceded the most runs in a single ICC Men’s T20 World Cup match:

1. Saurabh Netravalkar (USA) – 65 runs in 4 overs against India (2026)

2. Sanath Jayasuriya (Sri Lanka) – Scored 64 runs in 4 overs against Pakistan (2007)

3. Mashrafe Mortaza (Bangladesh) – 63 runs in 4 overs against Pakistan (2014)
