David Benavidez Preparations are being made for a big war, but it seems like another one is coming.

Benavidez is a two-time super middleweight world champion and the reigning WBC light heavyweight champion. Defended the gold belt for the first time in November When he stopped Anthony Yarde in the seventh round.

He will now move up a division to 200 pounds to face unified WBA and WBO lightweight champion Gilberto Ramirezstriving to become a three-weight world champion.

While Benavidez’s current focus will be on fighting Ramirez, one established star has already revealed his intentions to fight the “Mexican Monster.”

Dmitry Bivol was this man, after He explained to Fight Hub TV About whether he would be willing to fight Artur Beterbiev or the next Benavidez in their trilogy.

“I want to come back and if people want to see the trilogy, I want to show it. If people want to see Benavidez, we’ll do it.”

Bivol also said he would be excited to fight the “Mexican Monster” at lightweight after revealing his desire to move up in weight.

“For myself, I also want to move up and try another weight class to achieve more, so we’ll see.”

Bivol last fought in February 2025 when he defeated Beterbiev to become the undisputed light heavyweight champion, but after vacating the WBC belt now held by Benavidez, injuries meant the Russian had to remain on the sidelines ever since.
