Sam Darnold and the Seattle Seahawks will take on Drake Maye and the New England Patriots in the 2026 Super Bowl on Sunday. Both teams had strong performances during Monday’s Super Bowl opening night media event at the San Jose Convention Center.

Darnold had nothing but praise for Meyer and his wife, Ann Michael.

“He’s a great guy,” Darnold told reporters. “His wife Ann Michael is great, too. They have a wonderful family there. Drake’s a great guy. Great football player.”

Drake Maye’s wife Ann Michael is proud of his 2026 Super Bowl trip

Derek Meyer and his wife, Ann Michael, whom he began dating in seventh grade. The couple has been together ever since, and she’s watched his journey from middle school football all the way to the 2026 Super Bowl.

Meyer proposed to her in January 2025, and they were married in June in their home state of North Carolina.
