Salford beat Leyton Orient 4-0 to reach the third round of the FA Cup for the second consecutive season.
The Lions nearly scored first when Luke Garbutt’s powerful shot was tipped over by East goalkeeper Killian Cahill.
The home side’s early pressure was evident midway through the first half when Cahill diverted Kadeem Harris’ low cross into his own net.
Salford missed a golden opportunity to extend their advantage in the 39th minute when Cahill passed a tame Jorge Grant free-kick to Daniel Udoh, but the forward hit the outside of the post from close range.
Aaron Connolly’s previous shot went over the crossbar and Orient’s attacking intent improved at the start of the second half.
But signs of a comeback from the away side were short-lived and Salford doubled their lead in the 61st minute when Kallum Cesay’s low curling shot was blocked by Kelly N’mai.
Josh Osterfield wasted a great opportunity when his shot from just inside the area went over the crossbar, while Orient’s Connolly fired wide from the edge of the area.
Fabio Borini added to Salford’s strong display after 87 minutes, reacting quickly to score his first goal for the club after Jorge Grant’s shot was saved.
Nmayi capped off a fine display for Salford with a clinical, sweeping finish in stoppage time.
