Ryan Preece recently opened with his teammates Chris Buescherhe played for the final playoff position of the Cup series Sunday (August 10) at Watkins Glen International. There were only three games left until the playoffs started in Darlington on August 31.
Preece is in the 60th car to drive an RFK race car for the first time. He is one of the drivers to have not recorded their first victory in the 2025 season. Twenty-three games were Berlin Connecticut locals ranked 13th with 551 points.
Chris Buescher, on the other hand, ranked 11th with 574 points. Both drivers have to win to score, because the playoffs don’t seem to be an option.
Ryan Preece details this in a recent interview with Claire B. Lang:
“We’re going to play hard. I think that this week and next week, he (Buescher) thinks Watkins Glen is a great opportunity to win and join himself. If the points battle is really close, then obviously, we’re going to take care of each other on Superspeedway.”
But Pres won’t blatantly destroy his teammates or any other racer to make Playoffs. He respects everyone and expects the same reward.
Ryan Preece added: “I don’t necessarily think I’m going to ruin someone to try to get points like this. I’m just going to play the way I want to play.”
All eyes are now open Watkins Glenwill host the 24th game of the season on Sunday, August 10. Fans can watch 90 laps on ET (2pm ET), or listen to live broadcast updates on MRN and Siriusxm NASCAR radio.

Ryan Preece will be honored starter for the “Glen-Rod Spalding Classic” at the “Glen-Rod Spalding Classic” at Chemung Speedrome, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 9. He will also sign his fans ahead of the 75-loop modified series features.
The event will also offer exclusive ROC backpack giveaways for young racing fans who attend Saturday night. To follow up on the success of the giveaway last week at Spencer Speedway, more than 70 backpacks with school supplies will be available that day.
Winning the revised series will receive a $5,000 prize. The grand night will also feature the Championship late model series, the Championship Racing Four-cylinder dashboard series and the Chemung Hobby Stocks.
