Ashwin came as a surprise when he announced his retirement midway through the series. He played in the Adelaide Test but was replaced by Ravindra Jadeja in the Gabba Test. However, after the match, he shocked the entire cricketing world.
Ravichandran Ashwin ended his career with 537 wickets in 106 games, becoming India’s second-highest Test wicket-taker after Ashwin Anil Kumble (619 wickets). His presence will undoubtedly leave a huge void in the Indian team.
