On Tuesday, podcaster Joe Rogan spoke with actress Cheryl Hines about the risks of going against the grain, citing Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. John Fetterman as an example.
“Once you’re in, for the most part, you have to adhere to the way of thinking of all the other people in your industry. If you don’t, you’re going to be like John Fetterman and get voted out, just like you’re being pushed out. They hate that guy now. They’re mad at him because he said, ‘I think you should You may need to have an ID card to vote.” Rogan said.
Hines had earlier talked about Strongly opposed to her husband, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennery Jr. agreed, “I know. I like John Fetterman.”
“He’s great. He’s a lovely guy,” Rogan said. “He’s genuine. Well, that guy has been doing philanthropy sincerely his whole life. Like, he’s been doing philanthropy sincerely, like, the real thing. Like, he’s not a greedy guy. He walks around in a Carhartt hoodie and shorts.”

Rogan believes the Republican Party faces the same problem, cracking down on politicians when they disagree on a range of key issues.
“But the thing is, you have to persist, and if you don’t persist, you can’t have a different opinion,” Rogan said. “If you do that, you’re going to be kicked out. You know, like Thomas Massie. You see the same thing with the Republican Party. Like, anybody who has a (deviated) groupthink perspective, you’re going to be kicked out. They’re going to call you a traitor. They’re going to say horrible things about you.”
“There’s a lot of drama,” Hines agreed.
“There are a lot of things like this, and I think a lot of people who are in this industry start out with good intentions,” Rogan said. “And then you see them slowly succumb. They slowly succumb to the weight of this position.”

Voter ID is a key issue that divides the two parties, as Democrats refuse to support the Securing America’s Voter Eligibility (SAVE) USA Act, which would have required states to use citizenship documents to verify voter eligibility.
Republicans argued the bill would strengthen election integrity, while Democrats said it could make it harder for people without photo IDs to vote or even compare it to “Jim Crow Era” Laws.
Fetterman said voter ID was not an “unreasonable” requirement, noting states like wisconsin Similar protections already exist.
“For the average American, showing ID to vote is not a radical idea,” said Fetterman, who also rejected comparisons to Jim Crow laws.
