Cardinal Giovanni Battista Rea remembered Pope Francis as the Pope of the People – a pastor who knew how to communicate with “least of us” with an informal, spontaneous style. At the age of 91, he described the Francisco as “a pope among people, with an open heart to everyone.” He recalled that many would remember the final public appearance of the late Pontiph: delivering his last Easter Sunday blessing and waving it from the popmobile in the square where his funeral is now being held.
