Mendes is certainly an exciting option for United, giving them a clear boost over the likes of Luke Shaw, who has struggled with fitness and form for some time.
Nuno Mendes transfer: An ideal option for Manchester United?
MUFC fans will have their own ideas Who would be the best left back signing?it is worth noting that Plettenberg also mentioned two exciting talents in Alphonso Davies and Theo Hernandez.
Nonetheless, Mendes looks likely to be the best fit for Amorim’s style of football, as his attacking prowess means he could thrive at left-back under the United boss.

Mendes’ contract situation could also mean he could join for a reduced fee in the coming months, as PSG don’t want to risk losing him after a year and a half.
Manchester United are going through a difficult season, although Amorim’s side beat rivals Manchester City 2-1 away in the Manchester derby at the weekend, so there will certainly be a huge effort against this side soon.
Amorim has inherited a difficult situation at Old Trafford and would certainly welcome a signing like Mendes to fit into his system.
